Our Work

We work with all people from all backgrounds whatever their age or setting.

We run regular public music groups and open events. We can come into your school, care home or community and put on performances and run workshops. We are also professional musicians with touring shows. We run workshops for communities, businesses and private groups. However you’d like to connect people with music, we’re ready to do it with you.

Singing for Wellness

The Singing for Wellness groups are for people with respiratory conditions, those suffering the effects of long covid, or anyone with impaired breathing. The choirs meet every week during the academic year.

Devon
Youth Folk
Ensemble

The Devon Youth Folk Ensemble is for any person aged 13-18 years to play instruments and develop their folk music skills. This is a serious music group, but it’s also seriously fun!

Devon Inclusive Folk Ensemble

The Devon Inclusive Folk Ensemble is a friendly and welcoming group for children and young people with additional needs and their families to make music together.

Adult
choirs and
orchestras

We encourage people of all backgrounds to take part and experience the positive impact of making music in a group. We complement in-person sessions with online resources so you can practice at home.

Work with
care homes

Our work with people in residential care brings together aspects of reminiscence and oral testimony with music-making. We can attend single events or extended projects.

Okehampton
Lanterns

The Okehampton Lanterns Procession is an annual project mixing folklore with imagery and music. It celebrates the coming of spring and goodbye to the dark evenings.

Work with
communities

Working with communities is at the heart of what we do at Wren Music. Our creative programme is a blend of people, place and culture. Many groups of people can be considered a community, and we love working with them all.

Work with
schools

Wren Music has experience of working at all levels within the education system. From pre-school through to university and teacher education, and includes SEN/D education.

Under 5s
music
making

Small children, parents and carers can join Wren Music to sing & share songs, play in a band and dance around. Explore songs and music from around the world together at our Instrument Picnics.

Folk
Festival

Our autumn folk festival brings a weekend of folk music to the market town of Okehampton. Featuring local and international folk acts, with chances for all visitors to get involved in making as well as enjoying music.

Music
workshops

We can create bespoke workshops for your needs for vocals, instruments, dance or a combination of these. Our workshop mantra is quick success and lots of positive reinforcement!

Work
we’ve
done

Over the decades, Wren Music have been part of a variety of projects with people and communities across Devon. Below is a small fraction of some of the community work we have been part of. We are always open to new work or commissions.
