Rough Music (East Devon)

The Rough Music Folk Orchestra of East Devon was the first folk orchestra to be established by Wren Music in 2001. It has grown to over forty members playing a wide range of instruments. The repertoire ranges from Devon step-dances, through Breton airs, to Swedish polkas, with much more in between. Over the past decade they have drawn appreciative audiences at concerts and dances across Devon, as well as at the Sidmouth and Baring-Gould Folk Festivals, and in Brittany. They welcome players of all acoustic instruments and all abilities (14 and over), and there are no auditions. New members are welcome to join at any time. Music learning is primarily done by ear - but we do provide sheet music too! If you would like more information about the group please contact David Faulkner.
