roots a capella with sarah

Roots A Capella is a vocal ensemble for young singers aged 13-18 from around county with a passion for folk and world music. Led by vocal leaders Sarah Owen and Jon Dyer, at a Roots A Capella session you can expect a fascinating selection of folk songs, both traditional and more contemporary, as well as learning about how to improve your vocal technique and hone your performance skills.  Making friends and having fun is also an essential element!

The group performs regularly at festivals, events and concerts around the county, and recent performances have included Lyme Folk Weekend, Exeter Respect Festival and the Devon School’s MIX.

A very friendly and welcoming group, Roots A Capella is open to all young people with no auditions and you don’t need to read music (but you can if you like!).  Your first session can be a free taster, and you are welcome to join at any time.
