The choir sings a delightful range of songs from all over the world and from many different musical genres, so there is always something for everyone. We also take suggestions from our members, and often the young people write their own versions of songs and create their own, unique arrangements. New members are always welcome, and you can come and try out the group at any time.
A typical session involves a fun and active warm-up to get bodies, breath and voices ready to sing. Next we get our brains buzzing with a brand new song to take us straight into singing in harmony. The rest of the session includes learning and rehearsing an exciting range of songs from around the world, featuring beautiful harmonies and strong, ear-catching melodies.
Throughout the session we practise important singing techniques such as developing your vocal range and exploring the different sounds your voice can make. We also have time to take a well-earned break half way through, and play some games along the way! The emphasis is on having fun together and making friends whilst enjoying using your voice.
There's no need to read music (but you can if you like), and we learn by ear, which is fantastic for developing your aural skills and memory.
